In continuation of the human endeavor, the College of Dentistry – Gulf Medical University (GMU) and GMC Medical & Dental Specialty Centre, Sharjah conducted a free dental checkup and awareness camp for the students of Manzil on May 9, 2012. Manzil caters to diverse multinational children aged 4 to 30 years with mental challenges. A team of Senior Specialist Dental Surgeons along with the Dental Students from the College of Dentistry, GMU carried out a comprehensive dental check up on 30 students from Manzil. (more…)

Research Division Raises the Bar for Scholarly Achievements of its Faculty
Gulf Medical University (GMU), a leading University in Research and Teaching and GMC Hospital, Ajman together celebrated Global Day 2012 – Annual Ethnic & Cultural Festival on Friday the 13th, 2012. 
The Third International Conference and Workshop on Hands on Cadaveric Interventional Pain Management was recently held at Gulf Medical University in Ajman. The conference focussed on safety aspects in practice, according to the course Director Dr. Tariq Tramboo, MD FIPP. The program was jointly held with Jordan Pain Society. Didactic lectures, panel discussions, focus sessions, hands-on cadaveric workshop guided by Fluoroscopy were the scientific highlights of the workshop. 
Recent research has proved that negligence of oral and dental health directly leads to diseases like coronary heart disease, respiratory disease, Diabetes etc. Data on oral health and dental needs for the elderly people of U.A.E. is scarcely available. However, this data is very essential for the planning and evaluation of the healthcare programs for the elderly people. 
His Excellency Shri. Vayalar Ravi, Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India visited Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman at the personal invitation of Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group, U.A.E. The visiting dignitary was accorded a warm welcome by the Founder President and the academic team of GMU.
